Abstract

The streetvendors around the Bandung square (Alun-Alun) have become a great problem particularly in causing traffic congestion and damaging the beauty of the city.Bandung square is known as a center of activity for the local community and has become a favourite destination for the residents. As such, the government intends to arrange and relocate them to Gedebage market.Thepurpose of this study is to describe the policy implementation of the streetvendor arrangement and the constraints faced in implementing the policy.This research uses descriptive-qualitative approach. It also uses the observation and documentation method. Finally, the result shows that the policy implementation of the street vendors at Bandung square is unuccesful yet. Among the reasons is that most of them considered that Gedebage is not suitable for trading, so that they go back to trade in the area of Bandung square.
